Chatting!

Here papá take this cream puff. Nicolas doesn´t have a sweet tooth so he gives the sweet stuff to others.(Obviously he doesn´t take after me on that one.)

A face of trouble and innocence.

Hello, hello is anyone there?

Just thought I would call for a chat.

Normally he just talks to himself. (Sorry for all the background noise, we were at a birthday party.)

Fun Dips!!

Just to keep tabs Nicolas had his 18 month check-up recently and weighed in at 12.830 kilos (about 28 lbs.) and 85.5 cm (about 33 1/2 in.)tall. He is in the 90th percentile for both according to the charts here, which I guess are adjusted according to cultures. He also got his last two vaccines until he turns 4. We were lucky to have his appointment the day after the doctors were on strike and before they go on strike again. Lucky timing.

Thank you Auntie Kristi, Uncle Mitch, Ian, Taylor, Elly, Afton, Kaiden and Nikki for the wonderful Fun Dips. I love them, and mom loves them even more.

A cheesey green smile for the camera.

I didn´t really want to give the stick up.

Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday

This man is holding a typical palm that the children get here on Palm Sunday.

On our way to Barcelona we stop in Zaragoza to eat and by dumb luck we got in on a great example of a Palm Sunday processional.

More of the processional.

and more...

and more drummers....

and finally the float with Jesus.

Here is everyone in a small village outside the church waiting for the Good Friday processional to start.

and eventually it does, with Jesus on the cross...

being carried through the streets followed by everyone...

and in the tomb....

and finally Mary. They stop in the center plaza in the city and turn off all the lights and the choir women sing a song as if from Mary´s point of view, Very moving.

Samuel´s aunt Pilar, my mom, his aunt Lola, me and Nico all waiting to watch them get the float with Jesus on the cross back into the chuch. Not an easy task. they have to put it almost on the ground.

My mom outside a bakery with chocolate sculptures made for Easter.

Nico checking out what the Easter Bunny brought. He loves the shopping cart and the broom.

Table set for Easter Lunch.

Sitting down to eat.
