To the Pirate Ship

We decided that on Saturday we were going to go to the zoo...when we got there it was such a "zoo" for parking they had called in the local police that we turned around and decided to go and play on the pirate ship playground we saw on the way and go to the zoo a different day.

As you can see Oliver enjoyed the playground a lot.

The playground (like the zoo) is inside a gaint park so we went for a walk in the park and had a picnic too.

After our picnic Nico wanted to go back and play some more so Oliver tried out his new sitting skills on the slide. Watch out here comes Nico!

Colorful Trees???

Last Thursday before Nico went to school he and abuela(grandma) Paloma were discussing trees. Nico told her that trees are green on the top and brown at the bottom. Abuela then said that some trees have colors and Nico thought about it and decided that no they are only green so abuela gave him examples of how a tree would have colors if it had apples or pears or lemons or oranges, etc. So Nico went to school and was thinking about this new idea and decided that at school he was going to draw and color a fruit tree with many colors and this is what he brought home.

Looks like Oliver was hungry watching us have supper.

Trip to Leon

Walking home from supper on Friday night before Samuel, Oliver and I left for Leon in the morning. Yes that is Buzz Lightyear in the middle. Nicolas is in love with him.

Our hotel, which is a Parador. These are building, monestaries and castles mostly, that the government has made into hotels. This particular one is probably the best of them all and was a monestary.

Los Reyes Magos

As I think most of you know here we celebrate the 3 Wise Men bringing gifts on the night of Jan. 5 and we open then in the morning of the 6th. We all put out our shoes (as is custom) and and water for the camels...and this is what the they left for us.

They also left things at Samuel´s aunts house for us..

Pilar gave Nico a kiss and left a lipstick mark on his forehead.
